Use Restrictions

Last updated: January 23, 2026

We recognize that however good the maker's intentions, technology can amplify the ability to cause great harm. That's why we've established this policy. We feel an ethical obligation to counter such harm: both in terms of dealing with instances where TenguMail is used (and abused) to further such harm, and to state unequivocally that TenguMail is not a safe haven for people who wish to commit such harm.

If you have an account with TenguMail, you cannot use it for any of the restricted purposes listed below.

Restricted purposes

  • Violence, or threats thereof. If an activity qualifies as violent crime in Poland or the EU, you may not use TenguMail to plan, perpetrate, or threaten that activity.
  • Child exploitation, sexualization, or abuse. We don't tolerate any activities that create, disseminate, or otherwise cause child abuse. Keep away and stop. Just stop.
  • Hate speech. You cannot use TenguMail to advocate for the extermination, domination, or oppression of people.
  • Harassment. Intimidating or targeting people or groups through repeated contact, especially after requests to cease contact.
  • Doxing. You may not publish private information about others without their consent.
  • Malware or spyware. Code that harms, deceives, or tracks users without their informed consent.
  • Phishing or spoofing. Attempts to deceive users into providing sensitive information through impersonation or technical tricks.
  • Spamming. Unsolicited bulk or commercial messages. This includes using TenguMail to send automated emails to contacts without explicit consent.
  • Copyright infringement. You may not use TenguMail to distribute copyrighted material without authorization.

Email-specific restrictions

  • Email bombing. Sending excessive volumes of email to overwhelm recipients or services.
  • Harvesting email addresses. Collecting email addresses from our service or our users for spamming purposes.
  • Sending on behalf of others without authorization. Using TenguMail to send emails that appear to come from domains or addresses you don't control.
  • Bypassing email authentication. Attempting to circumvent SPF, DKIM, or DMARC protections.

AI-specific restrictions

  • Generating harmful content. Using AI features to create content that promotes violence, harassment, or illegal activities.
  • Impersonation via AI. Using AI to generate content that impersonates specific individuals without their consent.
  • AI-generated spam. Using AI features to generate bulk unsolicited messages.
  • Circumventing AI safety measures. Attempting to manipulate prompts or systems to bypass content restrictions.

Account termination

Accounts found to be in violation of any of the above are subject to cancellation without prior notice. We will investigate reports of violations and determine in good faith whether the reported conduct or content violates these restrictions.

When appropriate, we may report violations to law enforcement authorities.

How to report abuse

Violations can be reported by emailing abuse@treetank.net. Please include:

  • Detailed information about the account or content you are reporting
  • The specific behavior or content that concerns you
  • How you found it (include URLs or screenshots if possible)
  • Any other context that might be helpful

We will not disclose your identity to anyone associated with the reported account.
